Job summary

Auburn University in Huntsville, AL seeks a Director of Proposal Development & Contracts Management to lead AU-ARI’s pursuit of external funding and strategic partnerships. The role drives multi-institutional proposals, federal contracts, and research growth aligning with national prominence.

The Director will guide capture, compliance, and sponsor engagement while coordinating with investigators and external partners to maximize research opportunities and technology transition.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a field appropriate to the position.
• 7+ years of experience leading federal research development, proposals, contracts management, and business development.
• Experience with complex, multi-institutional funding efforts and federal sponsors.

Responsibilities

• Provides strategic leadership for AU-ARI's proposal development, contracts management, and federal research growth initiatives.
• Directs federal capture and opportunity development with DoD, NASA, DOE, and DHS among others.
• Develops enterprise capture strategies for large-scale, multi-institutional opportunities and OTAs/BAAs.
• Leads business development to grow federally funded research and technology transition programs.
• Advises AU-ARI leadership on funding strategy, sponsor engagement, and compliance.
• Directs proposal and contract submissions for complex, multi-partner projects.
