Job summary

Beam Therapeutics, located at our NC manufacturing facility, seeks a high‑energy Facilities & Maintenance Associate Director/Director to lead maintenance, calibration, and site programs. Qualifications

• BS degree in a technical discipline; Engineering preferred.
• 10+ years of experience leading maintenance personnel in biotech/pharma/manufacturing.
• Deep knowledge of equipment including utilities, production and lab equipment.
• Experience developing and managing a CMMS program.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence.
• Background in cGMP manufacturing/operations.
• Experience managing department budgets.
• Experience leading and managing a team.
• Ability to handle multiple projects with shifting priorities.
• Strong customer focus and collaboration.
• Flexibility to support start-up and critical operations outside normal hours; 24/7 site coverage.

Responsibilities

• Lead facilities and maintenance team activities.
• Coordinate and schedule work, ensuring GxP documentation compliance.
• Manage site facilities, engineering and maintenance contracts and relationships.
• Develop and maintain SOPs for facilities and CMMS.
• Coordinate routine shutdowns and maintenance planning.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Production and Site Partners.
• Oversee maintenance scheduling based on work orders and vendor availability.
• Manage facilities vendors, including HVAC, electrical and plumbing.
• Coordinate with landlord on building leases and services.
• Support CAPA, Change Control, Deviation, and Audit readiness.
