Job summary

Lakefront Biotherapeutics is a global biotech seeking an Associate Director / Director, Search & Evaluation to identify and advance external business development opportunities that strengthen our R&D pipeline. The role requires strong scientific judgment, drug development expertise, and cross-functional partnership.

You will collaborate with Transactions, Alliance Management, Corporate Strategy, Commercial Assessment, Clinical Development, Research, Finance, Legal and other teams to shape

Qualifications

• PhD, MD, PharmD or equivalent advanced scientific/medical degree required.
• 6-10+ years of relevant biotech/pharma industry experience in search & evaluation or business development.
• Strong understanding of disease biology, drug development, and data interpretation.
• Experience leading cross-functional diligence or strategic projects is preferred.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and influencing skills.
• Robust external network within the biotech ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Identify external programs, platforms, and technologies aligned with company strategy.
• Evaluate biology, preclinical/clinical data, development plans and commercial potential.
• Synthesize information into concise, actionable recommendations for leadership.
• Lead cross-functional diligence and determine key risks and value drivers.
• Conduct landscape analyses to identify emerging science and therapeutic areas.
• Support transactions with valuation, deal structure, and negotiations.
• Represent the company at conferences and partnering meetings.
• Mentor junior team members and support professional growth.
