Job summary

BioCryst Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Senior Search and Evaluation Director to develop and execute the External Innovation strategy. You will lead sourcing and assessment of assets to support rare disease initiatives from evaluation through contracting, collaborating with BD, SDIO, R&D, and finance to drive deal progress.

You will manage due diligence, coordinate cross-functional inputs, and communicate opportunities to governance committees while maintaining regulatory compliance and risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, life sciences, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years' experience within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry with strong track record.
• Proven experience with search and evaluation and external innovation, including sourcing and assessment.
• Experience in scientific due diligence and rare diseases is highly desired.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills with ability to work across functions.

Responsibilities

• Search for and evaluate potential partnering opportunities globally.
• Lead scientific/technical assessment in dialogue with BD and R&D experts.
• Coordinate scientific due diligence activities and prepare reports for senior management.
• Track deal flow and keep internal stakeholders informed; record opportunities in databases.
• Build BioCryst's profile by networking with current and future partners.
