The role of Director, Event Production at Boardroom will be a critical member of Boardroom’s events and marketing team, working closely on day to day event production and longer-term strategy. This role reports directly to the CMO and works across departments and with external partners on experiential activations from concept to execution.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all facets of pre-event production, onsite management, and post-event breakdown
- Responsible for overall event budgeting, including venue, food and beverage, sponsor activation, T&E and talent costs
- Work with executive team and brand partnerships team to ensure all budgets meet approved margins
- Lead internal calls and project meetings
- Communicate closely with account leads to ensure communication to brand partners is seamless and up to date
- Venue scouting, contract negotiation, and communications, including between venue and activation partners/vendors on all event elements including decor, branding, A/V, etc.
- Work hand in hand with Art Director and marketing team on event collateral, branding opportunities, invite strategy, etc
- Direct engagement and involvement with sales and revenue team in putting together experiential package opportunities for partner pitches
- Supervise management of relevant tracking materials for partners, including creative status documents and workback schedules
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years experience working on events and experiential production, agency experience a plus
- Track record of doing “more with less” - managing limited budgets to deliver premium experiences
- Experience working on wide variety of event types from small, intimate events; large parties; events including programming (e.g. speakers, fireside chats, etc); events with high profile VIP guests; and large brand activations
- Strong communication skills to manage conversations with multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing, fast-paced, multi-faceted start-up environment
- Comfortable working independently, taking initiative, and overseeing multiple projects with tight deadlines
- Experience producing events at major sports and entertainment tentpole moments a plus (e.g. Super Bowl, NBA All Star, WNBA All Star, Formula 1, US Open, etc.)
- Rolodex of vendors in multiple major US cities to call upon for production needs
- International production experience a plus
