Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp seeks a Director of Ethics and Compliance to provide strategic leadership for investigations, corporate compliance, anti-bribery, and regulatory matters. The role partners with Legal, HR, Audit, and Public Affairs and is located at the Akron, OH headquarters with travel as needed.

You will guide policy development, training, and risk assessments, ensuring timely, objective investigations and strong control environments across the company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, law, accounting, finance, public policy, or regulatory affairs.
• Juris Doctor degree preferred.
• Minimum of ten years in ethics, compliance, investigations, risk, or related functions.
• Three to five years in leadership roles managing teams and programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for ethics and compliance initiatives and program governance.
• Oversee intake, triage, investigations, reporting, and remediation of concerns.
• Lead sensitive, high‑risk investigations with confidentiality and proper documentation.
• Identify trends, gaps, and remediation opportunities; report to management.
• Oversee corporate compliance processes, gifts, conflicts of interest, and training.
