Job summary

FirstEnergy is seeking an Investments & Compliance Investigations Manager within the Ethics & Compliance group. The role leads a team of investigators, develops the investigations program, and partners with Legal, Assurance, and other functions to ensure adherence to laws, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Criminal Justice, Law, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related discipline is required.
  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited program is a plus.
  • Minimum ten years of relevant work experience in compliance & ethics and investigations required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership for investigation initiatives and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee development and build-out of the Ethics & Compliance Investigations program.
  • Plan, conduct, and oversee time-sensitive investigations of irregularities, fraud, corruption, and/or violations of the Code of Conduct.

The Ethics & Compliance (E&C) InvestigationsManager will be responsible for leading the team that manages E&C investigations.Responsibilitiesinclude managing a team of investigators, managing, andcontinuously improving the investigation processes anddata, andworking with stakeholders throughout the organization to conduct thorough and timely investigations.This manager will also frequently workwith Legal and Assurance leaders, inadditiontootherfunctional leaders, andberesponsible fordeveloping reports ofinvestigation findings and delivering periodic reports to FirstEnergy senior leaders.

The Ethics & Compliance (E&C) group works tostrengthen the company's ethics and compliance profile for FirstEnergy's operating companies.The team interacts with various functions to promote trust and respect, manage ethics and compliance risks, promote ethical business conduct, develop policies, procedures, and controls, andmanage complaints and concerns.The team also performs risk assessments,conducts investigations,coordinates training, andmanages ethics andcompliance communications.Thisposition willbe expected tointeract with all levels of the organization and lead a team of Compliance Specialists focused on investigations.

  • Overseeingthebuild-outofInvestigationspoliciesandprocedures
  • MaintainingInvestigationspoliciesandprocedures
  • Planning, conducting, andoverseeing time-sensitive,complex investigationsofirregularities,fraud, corruption, and/or other violations of the Code of Conduct, company policies, or the law

  • Conducting interviewswithidentifiedpartiesandsubsequentlydevelopingreports

  • Conducting andmanaging investigationstriggered byreported concerns andcomplaints frominternaland external parties, including the ethics hotline

  • Collectingdata,reviewingpatternsandanomalies,andcompilinggatheredinformation

  • Developingtheframeworkforstoringandmaintaininginvestigation casedata

  • Engaging withbusinessunitmanagement tocommunicate relevant reviewfindings to promote adherence to processes and procedures

  • Draftinganddeliveringfindingsandregular statusreportstoleadership

  • Working withLegal,Assurance, andotherfunctions toensureunderstanding ofapplicable laws,rules, regulations, policies & procedures, and risks

Qualifications
