Jobot is seeking a Director of Preconstruction & Estimating in Birmingham, AL to lead and scale our preconstruction operations. You will guide pricing strategy, risk, and profitability across data centers, healthcare, retail, and other sectors.

In this executive role, you will build high-performing teams, establish enterprise cost intelligence, and partner with executives to expand our market footprint, while adopting advanced estimating software and AI-driven workflows.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in construction
• 6+ years leading estimating/preconstruction teams
• Experience overseeing $250M+ in annual project pursuit value
• Proficiency in estimating platforms (Sage, Timberline, WinEst, BuildingConnected) and Primavera P6/MS Project, Excel

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight of estimating operations and mentor a multi-tiered team
• Establish company-wide estimating benchmarks, pricing models, and cost databases
• Oversee bid/no-bid decisions, risk mitigation, margins and pricing for complex pursuits (>$250M)
• Direct buyout strategies, value engineering, and scheduling with Design, Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain
• Serve as senior commercial leader during major pursuits, negotiations, and presentations
• Drive adoption of advanced estimating software, ERP integrations, data analytics, and AI-enabled workflows
