Overview
Our client is seeking a Director, Enterprise Strategy & Operations to lead enterprise planning, business performance, executive governance, and strategic execution across a rapidly growing organization.
Reporting to the COO, this highly visible role will work closely with the CEO, CFO, and senior leadership team to translate long-term strategy into clear operating plans, measurable priorities, and consistent accountability across the business.
The Director will own core enterprise planning and performance processes including the 3-Year Strategic Plan, Annual Operating Plan, Monthly Business Reviews, OKRs, executive reporting, and board and investor preparation.
This role also leads an experienced Strategy & Operations team and is ideal for someone who combines strategic thinking, financial fluency, executive communication, and strong operating discipline.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Strategy & Planning
- Lead development and ongoing refinement of the company’s multi-year strategic plan.
- Translate strategic priorities into clear initiatives, milestones, resource requirements, and measurable outcomes.
- Own the Annual Operating Plan process and coordinate target setting across functions.
- Partner closely with Finance and FP&A to align operating plans, forecasts, and strategic priorities.
- Support scenario planning, value-driver analysis, and enterprise decision‑making.
Business Performance & Governance
- Own the structure and cadence of Monthly Business Reviews.
- Develop dashboards, scorecards, and executive reporting frameworks.
- Synthesize financial and operational performance into clear, decision-ready insights.
- Identify emerging risks, performance gaps, and strategic tradeoffs.
- Drive follow-through on leadership decisions and key business commitments.
OKRs & Organizational Alignment
- Translate enterprise priorities into functional and team-level goals and metrics.
- Maintain alignment between strategic objectives, operating plans, and execution.
- Track progress and help leadership resolve competing priorities or cross-functional dependencies.
- Strengthen accountability and visibility across the organization.
Board & Investor Support
- Lead preparation of board decks, pre-reads, executive briefings, and supporting analysis.
- Partner with leadership and Finance to ensure a consistent business and financial narrative.
- Support investor meeting preparation and executive communications.
- Challenge assumptions, identify gaps, and improve clarity of board-level materials.
- Lead and develop an experienced Strategy & Operations team.
- Set priorities and delegate ownership of major planning and performance workstreams.
- Provide coaching around analysis, executive communication, and strategic problem-solving.
- Support hiring, performance management, development, and succession planning.
Process & Operational Excellence
- Improve planning, reporting, governance, and business-management processes.
- Develop scalable tools, frameworks, templates, and operating standards.
- Create a consistent source of truth for core business processes and planning activities.
- Act as a connector across functions to resolve dependencies and improve execution.
- Represent Strategy & Operations in executive and cross-functional forums.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive experience in corporate strategy, Strategy & Operations, strategic finance, FP&A, management consulting, investment banking, or a similar function.
- Experience leading multi-year strategic planning and annual operating planning.
- Strong financial and analytical skills.
- Experience preparing executive, board, or investor-level materials.
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations and executive narratives.
- Experience with OKRs, business performance management, or enterprise operating frameworks.
- Experience leading experienced individual contributors.
- Strong executive presence and comfort working directly with C-suite leaders.
- Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and presentation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or other relevant advanced degree.
- Experience in a high-growth technology, cloud, infrastructure, data center, or related environment.
- Experience building strategy, planning, or governance processes within a scaling organization.
- Background in management consulting, investment banking, corporate development, or strategic finance.
- Experience with scenario modeling, enterprise forecasting, and value-driver analysis.
- Experience within an investment-backed or rapidly scaling company.
