Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Director, Enterprise Risk Management to lead the design, execution, and continuous improvement of the ERM framework. You will partner with executive leaders and governance bodies to embed risk thinking into strategy, operations, and capital decisions.

You will oversee the ORSA process, prepare risk reports for the Board, and promote a strong risk culture while delivering practical business solutions across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in risk management, finance or business administration.
• 10 years experience in risk management and consulting or public accounting.
• 5 years leadership experience.
• CRM, CRMA, ARM or CPA.
• In lieu of degree, 12+ years of experience in related field.

Responsibilities

• Direct all aspects of enterprise risk management and support throughout the organization to achieve business objectives and strategies.
• Promote organization-wide understanding of enterprise risks and risk management strategies.
• Lead the ORSA process, including facilitation of enterprise risk assessment, stress testing, and ORSA report.
• Prepare risk reports, dashboards, and presentations for executive leadership, risk committees, and the Board.
• Coordinate with management to develop practical and actionable business solutions.
• Monitor risk appetite metrics, key risk indicators, and emerging risks.
• Coordinate periodic reviews of risk appetite statements, policies, and governing practices.
• Monitor regulatory, industry, and healthcare trends to identify potential impacts.
• Promote a strong risk culture through education, communication, and consultation.
• Lead the corporate insurance and captive management programs.
