Job summary

QinetiQ US seeks a Director of Enterprise Quality & Configuration Management to lead quality and configuration across hardware production and services. You will partner with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Program Management to elevate quality maturity and ensure compliance for major defense programs from first article to sustained production in the Franklin, MA area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; 12+ years in Aerospace & Defense Quality and Configuration Management.
• Experience leading quality organizations and programs, including DoD or federal programs.
• Strong executive communication and stakeholder management.
• Lean, Six Sigma knowledge and continuous improvement mindset.
• Experience with AS9100D and working with Government quality reps (DCMA).

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of ~25 quality engineering professionals and drive enterprise-wide strategy for Quality & Configuration Management.
• Own product quality on production programs through first article inspections, readiness reviews, and acceptance testing.
• Lead nonconformance management, corrective action, and root cause analysis.
• Serve as primary quality interface with customers, government reps, and DCMA.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve yield, cycle time, and quality maturity.
• Ensure compliance with QMS and certifications across all U.S. entities.
• Manage robust configuration management practices across lifecycle, including baselines and engineering change control.
• Develop and mentor a dispersed team, building scalable processes and systems.
• Collaborate across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Program Management to embed quality gates in schedules.
