Job summary

Vertex is seeking an experienced engineering leader to build and operate its enterprise Knowledge Graph and Semantic Layer, aligning data across clinical, research, regulatory, and commercial domains. You will lead the Knowledge Graph & Semantics function within Knowledge & Grounding and shape the strategy, technology, and governance for enterprise data models used by AI agents and analytics platforms.

Qualifications

10+ years in data engineering, AI/ML, or advanced analytics.
3+ years focused on knowledge graphs, semantic tech, or enterprise data modeling at scale.
Deep experience designing and operating enterprise knowledge graphs at scale.
Experience with cloud platforms (Snowflake and/or Databricks) integration with graph/semantic tooling.
Leadership and ability to communicate with executives and translate needs into models.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate Vertex’s enterprise knowledge graph spanning multiple domains.
Build and govern the enterprise semantic layer for analytics and AI consumers.
Define strategy for graph and semantic platform and the architecture.
Partner with ontology and data modeling to translate domain ontologies into graphs.
Develop graph traversal interfaces for AI agents and RAG systems.
Onboard systems into the knowledge graph and semantic layer.
Own SLAs, observability, and cost in production.
