Job summary

Veeam is pursuing a senior technical leader to own two core systems: the Knowledge Graph and hyperscale data lake integrations within the Data Command Center. You'll guide multi-team efforts, set architecture, and ensure secure, scalable delivery across enterprise data platforms.

You will build an AI-first culture with strong quality standards while growing teams of engineering managers and senior engineers. This role demands deep graph and data-lake expertise.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience in data infrastructure, graph systems, or distributed data platforms.
• 4+ years of engineering leadership experience, including leading through managers and scaling multiple teams.
• Strong production experience with Amazon Neptune and/or Neo4j, including scaling and operations.
• Proven ability to lead graph modeling for lineage and permissions at enterprise scale.
• Deep knowledge of Gremlin, Cypher/openCypher, and/or SPARQL with performance tuning.
• Experience with data lakes/lakehouses (Delta Lake, Iceberg, Parquet) across cloud platforms.
• Experience designing and operating distributed systems using Spark, Flink, or Presto/Trino.
• Backend proficiency in Go and/or Python capable of reviewing designs.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools and setting security/quality standards

Responsibilities

• Set the technical vision and end-to-end architecture for the Knowledge Graph at very large scale.
• Guide the evolution of the graph schema for data sources, identities, access, and lineage.
• Own the strategy for hyperscale lake and lakehouse integrations with multiple connectors.
• Drive performance and reliability: indexing, partitioning, and query planning.
• Build and scale an AI-first engineering approach with guardrails for security and quality.
• Invest in reusable engineering building blocks to speed up teams.
• Own delivery outcomes: roadmap execution, readiness, incident learning, cross-team alignment.
• Hire, coach, and develop leaders with clear growth paths
