Job summary

Stellarus seeks a Chief Information Officer to lead engineering delivery, platform operations, and technology services in support of our strategic partnership with Blue Shield of California. You will guide senior engineers, managers, and cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable technology solutions that enable growth and resilience.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or Higher; 4 years relevant experience in lieu of a degree
10 years of experience in software engineering, technology operations and management
6 years of people management experience leading engineers/managers
Experience leading multiple engineering teams with accountability for delivery
Proven track record owning production systems end-to-end and improving reliability
Experience stabilizing and modernizing legacy systems under production pressure
Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, CI/CD, observability and security
Ability to partner with Product, Architecture, Security, Platform and business leaders
Experience with portfolio planning and investment prioritization preferred
Master’s degree preferred in CS/Engineering/IS

Responsibilities

Provide senior leadership across engineering delivery, platform operations, and technology services
Lead engineering managers and technology leaders responsible for solution delivery and production operations
Drive modernization, reliability, and operational maturity across large-scale platforms
Partner with Product, Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, and business leaders to improve execution
Translate complex technical concepts and risks for senior and cross-functional audiences
