Burns & McDonnell seeks a Director of Data & AI to lead the enterprise Data Engineering & AI delivery organization, integrating Azure, AWS, GCP, Palantir, and Databricks into a unified platform. You will own the engineering playbook, standards, governance, and the AI brain across portfolios.

You will attract and develop talent across geographies, unify teams, and drive capacity planning, backlogs, and production releases with a hands-on approach to set the bar and deliver production-grade AI,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field and minimum 15 years of related professional experience in data engineering, data platforms, integration, analytics engineering, AI/ML engineering, or related hands‑on technology disciplines, with a track record of building and shipping production data and AI solutions; substantial people‑leadership experience.
• Experience leading enterprise‑scale data engineering/platform teams and multiple concurrent delivery streams in a complex organization.
• Hands‑on, current experience building and delivering production solutions on Azure, AWS, GCP, and Palantir (Foundry/AIP), and experience with Databricks, in enterprise environments.

Responsabilités

• Own the technical delivery roadmap and turn prioritized backlog demand into capacity plans, pod assignments, and production releases.
• Run all approved platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP, Palantir, Databricks) as one delivery system with common standards and reusable components.
• Define engineering standards and reusable patterns for ingestion, integration, transformation, modeling, data products, analytics, AI/ML, testing, CI/CD, observability, and production support.
