Job summary

Novelis in Atlanta seeks a Director of Engineering & Operations Support to build and lead a brand-new organization across North America, reporting to the Senior Vice President, Operations. You will manage senior engineers and deliver strategic projects spanning reliability, maintenance, and quality systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
• 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing engineering, quality, reliability, maintenance, capital projects, or related operations rigor.
• Experience leading managers and multidisciplinary technical teams in a multi-site, matrixed environment.
• Experience with project governance, feasibility and front-end engineering, capital justification, supplier management, and safe project execution.
• Broad knowledge of reliability fundamentals, rolling process fundamentals, advanced engineering and diagnostic analysis, and ROI.
• Strong engineering judgment, systems thinking, prioritization, and ability to influence executive partners.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a new centralized engineering, reliability, maintenance, and quality organization across North America.
• Ensure projects align with safety, regulatory obligations, engineering controls, and management-of-change expectations.
• Establish a process to prioritize and deploy resources based on safety, customer impact, risk, and value.
• Provide governance for feasibility studies, front-end engineering, project development, execution, commissioning, and ramp-up.
• Lead resolution of plant and tolling quality issues through root-cause analysis and prevention of recurrence.
• Advance reliability and asset performance via maintenance strategies, preventive/predictive maintenance, outages support.
• Develop technical talent and communicate portfolio updates and material risks to senior leaders.
