This is an exciting leadership role for an experienced engineering executive ready to shape the foundation of a large-scale, AI-powered platform. As Director of Engineering, you’ll lead multiple backend teams responsible for building high-performance systems that manage data transfer, storage, message rendering, and real-time tracking. You’ll work at the intersection of engineering and product, translating complex technical vision into execution and driving scalable, resilient solutions. This role demands strong technical depth, strategic foresight, and a passion for mentoring and team building.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead 3–4 engineering teams responsible for core backend services
  • Translate product vision into scalable technical goals and ensure on-time execution
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners across Product, Design, and Engineering
  • Guide teams through architectural decisions, system scaling, and workflow optimization
  • Mentor and grow engineering managers and senior engineers
  • Drive a high-performance culture rooted in accountability, collaboration, and ownership
  • Balance short-term delivery with long-term technical strategy and sustainability
  • Actively contribute to hiring, retention, and performance management strategies
  • 5+ years of engineering leadership experience managing multiple teams and engineering managers
  • Proven track record in system architecture, high-scale infrastructure, and cloud-based environments
  • Strong understanding of engineering excellence and technical trade-off decision-making
  • Experience scaling engineering organizations and developing team-wide processes
  • Familiarity with email/mobile marketing platforms and high-volume message delivery
  • Effective communicator, capable of aligning technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in fast-paced, evolving environments with a focus on outcomes
  • High level of ownership, integrity, and ability to mentor leaders within the organization
  • Base salary range: $250,000–$275,000 per year
  • Additional compensation through bonuses or stock options
