Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced engineering leader in Illinois to drive equipment selection, installation, and commissioning, aiming to boost production efficiency and cost effectiveness.

You will oversee new product introductions, champion continuous improvement and automation, and develop maintenance and design standards to meet regulatory and safety requirements.

Qualifications

10–15 years of experience in engineering leadership roles within the CPG or manufacturing industry.
Strong background in Lean Six Sigma, especially with the Early Equipment Management pillar of TPM.
Proven experience in process improvement, automation, and new product development.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels of the organization.

Job description

Lead equipment selection, installation, and commissioning to enhance production efficiency.
Oversee new product introductions, ensuring seamless integration into existing manufacturing operations.
Drive continuous improvement and automation initiatives to optimize cost, quality, and production output.
Develop a world class maintenance program that focuses on preventative and predictive strategies.
Develop and implement engineering best practices to ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
Provide technical leadership to the engineering team, fostering a culture of problem-solving and innovation.
Develop engineering design standards and work with suppliers to ensure compliance.
Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain and operations teams to align engineering efforts with business objectives.
Manage capital projects, equipment upgrades, and plant expansions to support growth and operational excellence.
Develop and mentor engineering talent to build a high-performance team.
Ensure department is operating within approved budget requirements.

Requirements

Proficiency in project management software tools such as Microsoft Project or Monday.com.
