Job summary

Jobtailor in San Francisco is hiring an Engineering Manager to provide hands‑on technical leadership, align engineering strategy with site and business goals, and resolve complex manufacturing challenges in a high‑volume environment.

You will mentor engineering teams, drive capital projects from planning to validation, implement Lean and Six Sigma methods, optimize processes, and champion reliability, safety, and cost performance across the operation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or related field) required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • 8–12+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing, preferably high‑volume operations.
  • Strong technical expertise in mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and equipment design.
  • Experience leading engineering teams or projects with cross‑functional impact.
  • Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Mentor and develop engineering talent; drive performance management and succession planning.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • 8–12+ years of engineering experience
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably high‑volume operations
  • Strong technical expertise in mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and equipment design
  • Experience leading engineering teams or projects with cross‑functional impact
  • Solid understanding of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)
  • Prior experience in an Engineering Manager, Technical Lead, or similar leadership role
  • Experience with capital project management and equipment implementation
  • Knowledge of reliability engineering, maintenance strategies, and process optimization
  • Experience in a Batch Chemical Manufacturing Industry preferred
