Job summary
MaineGeneral Health is seeking an experienced and collaborative Director of Emergency Services to provide strategic and operational leadership for Emergency Nursing Services across two campuses. You will oversee emergency nursing operations and our SAFE Program while partnering with physicians, clinical leaders, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered emergency care.

Qualifications
- Active Maine RN license or eligibility to obtain Maine licensure promptly.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
- Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Progressive nursing leadership experience required.
- Emergency Department or Emergency Services experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams in a complex, fast-paced clinical environment.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards aligned with organizational requirements.
- Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, and budgets.
- Plans staffing activities including hiring, orientation, evaluation, and continuing education initiatives.
