Loft Orbital Solutions seeks a Director of Embedded Systems & FPGA Engineering to define architecture and roadmaps for ESW and FPGA across satellite platforms. You will lead hardware, firmware, and onboard software teams, guiding architecture, verification, and secure builds while enabling cross-team collaboration and modern tooling.

You will shape the platform to evolve across processors, FPGAs, and operating environments, ensuring reliability and robust interfaces, with hands-on involvement in

Qualifications

• Requires 10+ years in embedded systems, FPGA, firmware, or mission-critical hardware/software.
• Proven experience leading and managing geographically distributed technical teams.
• Deep FPGA design, embedded C/C++, RTOS, and HW/SW integration expertise.
• Experience designing hardware abstractions and hardware-agnostic interfaces.

Responsabilités

• Own the ESW and FPGA roadmap and technical direction across Loft’s satellite platforms.
• Define HW-abstraction architecture and interfaces across FPGA, embedded software, onboard software, and operational layers.
• Drive hardware-agnostic and reusable platform capabilities to improve team independence.
• Mentor ESW and FPGA leads, remove blockers, and provide strategic direction.
• Set expectations for architecture reviews, code quality, testing, and documentation.
• Build core engineering foundations for Linux, Yocto/OpenEmbedded, CI/CD, and secure environments.
