Qualifications

• Eight (8) years of successful, full-time public school service in a certificated position, with at least two (2) years in leadership positions
• Three (3) years of public school experience working with students with disabilities in a certificated capacity
• Valid California Administrative Services Credential
• Master’s degree or advanced degree of at least equivalent standard
• Completion of required Multicultural Education and Master Plan coursework
• Applicants have one year to complete this requirement
• All minimum requirements must be met on or before the filing deadline

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers the Comprehensive Coordinated Early Intervening Services (CCEIS) Program Improvement Process to reduce disproportionate representation of African American students in special education
• Develops and leads the work of school leadership teams to understand disproportionality and to develop plans to address it
• Serves as a liaison with divisions to assure compliance with mandates
• Compiles and analyzes data to determine root causes of disproportionality and tracks student data
• Leads teams in development of school-specific CCEIS plans; monitors and advises on plans
• Coordinates and monitors design and program implementation of pre-referral interventions
• Coordinates and monitors professional development for comprehensive intervention models
• Coordinates and facilitates support to regions to implement recommendations to prevent inappropriate identification
• Coordinates development and training of principals and teams in pre-referral interventions including implicit bias and parent engagement
• Performs other duties as assigned
