Job summary

Volunteers of America–Greater New York seeks a Director of Early Childhood Education Services in Bronx, NY. The role leads the ECE center, oversees staff supervision, and aligns grants/contracts with program goals.

The position requires MS in Special Education with NYS certification, leadership credentials, and at least five years of supervisory experience in education programs. Strong regulatory and accreditation oversight is essential.

Qualifications

• MS degree in Special Education and NYS certification required.
• Certification in Students with Disabilities-Birth-Grade 2 is required.
• Leadership certification in Administration/Supervision or School Building Leadership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops program services for children and their families.
• Manages budgets for the early learning center.
• Liaises with NYS Education Department and NYC agencies on program matters.
• Ensures accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NYAEC).
• Ensures compliance with NYC DOH/Child Care regulations and DOE guidelines.
• Plans and monitors professional development for education staff.
• Implements operating policies and staff training per funders and accreditors.
