Job summary

Salesforce, Inc. is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to lead DNS Engineering (DDI, DNS, DHCP, IPAM) responsible for authoritative and recursive DNS across data centers and Hyperforce public cloud.

You will own multi-year strategy, drive reliability, and steer cloud-native, automated DNS initiatives with AI-assisted operations. Expect to lead tech leads, POs, and senior engineers while ensuring availability and security.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience.
• 5+ years leading engineering teams.
• Deep understanding of DNS and large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience owning Tier-0 or Tier-1 services 24x7x365.
• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Set multi-year vision and roadmap for DNS/DDI and drive architecture to delivery.
• Grow and manage engineering managers and engineers, setting clear goals and removing obstacles.
• Own availability, latency, and SLO-driven operations for Tier-0 services; lead incident reviews.
• Modernize platform toward cloud-native, multi-provider DNS with automation and AI-assisted tooling.
• Automate DNS/IPAM APIs and policy-as-code, ensuring secure-by-default record management.
