Job summary

Western Colorado University is seeking an in-person Director of the Center for Disability & Accommodations (CDA) to provide strategic leadership and oversee all student accommodation services. The role focuses on accessibility, inclusion, and campus collaboration under the Office of the Provost.

The incumbent will manage an interactive process, mentor staff, design training, and ensure regulatory compliance (ADA/504, FERPA) while developing budget plans and program assessments to drive

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Behavioral Health, Social Work, Counseling, Human Resources, Special Education, or related field, or will have earned this degree within the first 12 months of the position start date.
• Three years of progressive experience providing accessibility and accommodation services in a university or educational setting.
• Three years of supervisory experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of ADA/504 and FERPA regulations.
• Collaborative skills and ability to build and maintain partnerships.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Project management experience from ideation through completion.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and oversees comprehensive student accommodation services.
• Oversees the interactive process workflow; maintains an active caseload; ensures timely and accurate accommodation review and record keeping.
• Mentors CDA staff in ADA/504 best practices and builds partnerships campus-wide.
• Collaborates with campus offices to design and deliver training on disability, accessibility, and accommodations.
• Manages the CDA operational budget and leads program assessment to inform improvements.
• Maintains CDA SOPs and ensures compliance with university policies and state/federal laws.
• Completes annual reporting as required by the state.
