Job summary

Western Colorado University is seeking a Director to lead the Center for Disability & Accommodations, managing student accommodation services and ADA/504 compliance within a collaborative campus framework. The role reports to the Office of the Provost and requires stakeholder engagement, budgeting, and program assessment.

The position emphasizes inclusive education, staff mentorship, cross-department collaboration, and ongoing training to promote accessibility and excellence in learning

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or expected within 12 months of start date.
• 3 years of progressive experience providing accessibility and accommodation services in higher education.
• 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of ADA/504 and FERPA regulations.
• Excellent collaborative, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with project management from ideation through completion.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and oversees comprehensive student accommodation services.
• Oversees the interactive process workflow; maintains a caseload; ensures timely determinations and record keeping; collaborates with Residence Life and faculty.
• Mentors CDA staff; builds partnerships across campus and with community stakeholders; works with students, faculty, and staff to support accessibility and inclusion.
• Designs and delivers professional training to improve campus understanding of disability and accommodations; advises faculty and staff on inclusive practices.
• Manages the CDA’s operational budget; leads program assessment to measure outcomes and inform improvements.
• Maintains CDA SOPs and ensures consistent practices.
• Keeps current knowledge of disability-related laws and completes annual reporting.
