Job summary

The U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) seeks a Director of Digital Standards Products and Partnerships to own the strategy, development, and adoption of Digital Reference Standards (dRS) products, including USP-ID.

You will translate customer, scientific, quality, regulatory, and business needs into a clear roadmap working with Science, Quality, IT, Legal, Marketing, Business Development, and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in analytical chemistry, chemistry, chemical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, cheminformatics, scientific computing, or related discipline.
• Ten+ years in scientific software, digital laboratory products, analytical technologies, or regulated life science product development.
• Experience identifying customer needs and product market fit in a scientific software context.
• Ability translating customer needs into software requirements, acceptance criteria, and roadmaps.
• Experience managing external software development, technology, distribution, or commercialization partners.
• Experience coordinating across scientific, quality, legal, commercial, and executive stakeholders.
• Knowledge of analytical laboratory workflows and concepts like accuracy, precision, reproducibility, robustness, traceability.
• Structured thinking and communication to explain risks and strategic choices.

Responsibilities

• Structure USP-ID product vision, strategy, roadmap, and value proposition with clear customer value.
• Lead scientific product management converting observations into testable requirements and priorities.
• Manage software development roadmap: backlog, releases, UAT, defects, docs, knowledge transfer.
• Serve as primary PM for external developers, integration partners, and distributors.
• Partner with Science and Quality on validation readiness, documentation, traceability, and risk remediation.
• Lead customer discovery, lighthouse collaborations, demonstrations, onboarding, and post-trial learning.
• Lead pricing, packaging, channel strategy, budgets, contracts, and partner economics.
• Support governance with KPI/risk reviews and cross-functional ownership repositories.
• Contribute to Digital Standards strategy and scientific framework with Science Division.
