Job description

Director Digital Production

Remote (United States) | Full time | $90,000 – $120,000

About Masterworks

We're a faith-based fundraising agency, 35 years in, working with Christian nonprofits and ministries: rescue missions, prison ministries, Bible translation, relief and development work.

Clients include The Salvation Army, Prison Fellowship, InterVarsity, Atlanta Mission, San Diego Rescue Mission, CityTeam, and SAT-7.

The problem we exist to solve: traditional fundraising is declining, donor behavior keeps shifting, and most nonprofits don't have the internal team to build a serious digital fundraising operation. That work runs through Delta-V, which means there's a short line between what you ship and something real. A donation form that converts better funds more beds at a rescue mission. That's the job.

This could be your first director role

We mean that.

If you're a lead or senior manager who has been running builds and people, and you're looking for the seat where you own the whole function, this is that seat. You'd join the leadership team at Delta-V, Masterworks' digital lifecycle marketing unit, alongside the people who own client strategy, planning, and creative.

About the code question

You don't need to out-code your developers. They're skilled, they work in HTML email, scripting, and AI-assisted tooling, and they don't need a manager rewriting their markup.

What they need is clean intake, complete requirements, and someone who absorbs the ambiguity before it reaches them. What you need is enough technical fluency to review work credibly, debug a rendering issue, and catch it when an approach smells wrong.

What you'd actually do

Lead the team. Manage Delta-V's developers and contract resources: workload, priorities, growth. Be the person they elevate to when work is blocked or the documented process doesn't cover the case. Translate requirements into something buildable, and technical findings into something account teams can hand a client.

Run the build queue. Emails, SMS, donor journeys, landing pages, forms, integrations, tracking. Balance recurring client work against projects and the fall and year-end fundraising surge. Make sure work is actually ready before a developer picks it up: requirements complete, assets in hand, access confirmed.

Own the process. Build the QA checklists, intake standards, and requirements templates. When the same mistake shows up twice, turn it into a documented check so the fix doesn't live in one person's head. Standardize build patterns so work is portable between developers.

Keep the platforms running. Provisioning and access across the client portfolio, including credentials, 2FA, and secure handoffs. DNS and subdomain setup for sending domains and landing pages. Ensuring documentation is current enough that any developer can pick up an unfamiliar account.

Handle onboarding and migrations. Own the technical side of new client onboarding, from platform assessment through first sends. Lead migrations when clients change CRMs, donation platforms, or websites - scoping through post-migration validation, without breaking what already works.

What we're looking for
  • 5+ years in marketing technology, email production, or digital marketing operations
  • 2+ years managing developers or technical production staff
  • Conversant in HTML, scripting, and modern development workflows
  • You've built processes before. The checklist, intake form, or QA standard that fixed a recurring problem, and you can tell us about it
  • Comfort making the call when the documented process doesn't cover the case
  • Steady under deadline pressure
  • Clear writing, because most of this job is requirements, documentation, and coordination
Helpful, not required
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud, HubSpot, or nonprofit CRMs (Virtuous, Engaging Networks, Blackbaud/Luminate)
  • Agency experience holding multiple client contexts at once
  • HTML email debugging and rendering troubleshooting
  • Tracking and conversion QA - verifying that events actually fire
  • Nonprofit fundraising, donation platforms, or direct response marketing
  • AI-assisted development tools in a production workflow
Where this role grows

The immediate job is running delivery well. As Delta-V scales, this role grows into technical architecture, ownership of our platform stack, and platform certifications and partner status.

Mission alignment matters here. You'd be building the fundraising infrastructure for organizations feeding people, housing people, and translating scripture. The people who do well at Masterworks care about where the money goes, not just whether the send went out clean.
