Job summary

Figure, a leader in blockchain-enabled capital markets, is hiring a Director of Digital Asset Accounting to lead accounting across our digital asset product suite and tokenized equity, implementing robust close processes and scalable infrastructure.

You will own month-end closes, reporting, and tax workflows, partnering with Product and Engineering to align product design with GAAP requirements and regulatory expectations. This is a high-ownership, strategic role in a rapidly growing platform.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of accounting experience, including 5+ years in people management, preferably fintech or digital assets.
• GAAP financial reporting knowledge for digital assets (tokenized securities, cryptocurrency, trading activity).
• Hands-on experience with digital asset roll forwards, token issuance, trading fee revenue recognition, and DeFi pool accounting.
• Experience designing and improving accounting systems and workflows for automation.
• Strong analytical skills to resolve variances in large on-chain/off-chain data.
• Experience collaborating with Product and Engineering to translate accounting needs into product workflows.
• Exposure to digital assets, crypto, tokenized equity; prior digital asset accounting role preferred.
• SOX compliance experience and maintaining controls in a public company context.
• Strong written and verbal communication to report financial status to Controllers/CFOs.
• Ability to operate in ambiguity and apply accounting judgment to novel asset structures.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of month-end close for all digital asset positions.
• Prepare and deliver reporting on close status, open items, and risk areas to the Controller.
• Maintain and reconcile digital asset roll forwards across token types.
• Own accounting for tokenized equity issuances, token sales, transfers, and DeFi activity.
• Ensure all digital asset positions are fully supported and auditable.
• Design scalable accounting frameworks for digital asset products.
• Partner with Technical Accounting to maintain policies and controls including SOX.
• Drive optimization of the digital asset accounting tool for close and tax reporting.
• Serve as accounting liaison to Product and Engineering for new product launches.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Tax, and Legal on product implications.
