Job summary

Cedar Rapids Healthcare is seeking a Director of Dietary Services to lead the dietary department, oversee meal planning, supervision of cooks and aides, and budget adherence. You will work with the interdisciplinary team to deliver nutritious meals on time in a sanitary facility.

The role requires ensuring compliance with Federal, State and local regulations, staff training, and performance improvement initiatives within QAPI frameworks. Open, on-site role with rotating shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Food Sanitation Certification is required.
• Dietary Manager Certification in the state of practice is required.
• One year experience as Dietary Manager is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises the activities of the dietary staff.
• Maintains safe, sanitary operation of the dietary department.
• Plans meals ahead to minimize substitutions and waste.
• Coordinates with facility dietitian to meet nutritional needs of Guests.
• Ensures diet cards are followed in tray line and meals meet schedules.
• Manages department budget and performs annual staff evaluations.
• Provides staff training and counseling as needed.
• Maintains infection control practices and safety standards.
