Job summary

Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center, part of HCA Virginia, seeks a Director of Diagnostic Imaging to lead daily operations, oversee patient care in imaging, and ensure regulatory compliance. The role manages HR processes for the imaging team and drives safety oversight per ALARA guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have ARRT certification with 7+ years in radiologic technology, plus 2+ years in a supervisory role, and a hospital-based education program graduate.

Qualifications

• Minimum seven (7) years of progressively responsible Radiologic Technology experience in an approved hospital or similar institution.
• Two (2) years experience in a supervisory/managerial capacity.
• ARRT certification required; Bachelor's or Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees planning, organization and management of the daily operations of the Imaging Department.
• Oversees direct patient care activities in the Imaging Department.
• Manages Human Resources for Imaging Department, including employee educational files compliance.
• Monitors KRONOS and productivity daily for all Imaging modalities.
• Maintains compliance with regulatory agencies within Imaging and radiation safety per ALARA guidelines, chairing Radiation Safety Committee.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Oversees planning, organization and management of the daily operations of the Imaging Department

Oversees direct patient care activities in the departments of the Imaging Department.

Demonstrates commitments to organizational communication within the department and facility.

Manages the Human Resources function for Imaging Department to include compliance of employee educational files.

Effectively monitors KRONOS and productivity daily for all Imaging modalities.

Maintains compliance with all regulatory agencies within Imaging.

Monitors and ensures radiation safety, utilizing ALARA guidelines and serves as Chair of the Radiation Safety Committee.

Supports hospital goals and make decisions accordingly.

Coordinates departmental PI initiatives

Education & Experience:

Minimum seven (7) years of progressively responsible Radiologic Technology experience in an approved hospital or similar institution, under the direct supervision of a qualified radiologist - Required

Two (2) years experience in a supervisory/managerial capacity - Required

Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology

OR

Diploma from a two-year, hospital-based program – Required

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) – Required

Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in addition to required educational credentials - Preferred
