Job summary

As a hands-on technical leader, you will champion AI-assisted development, partner with engineering leaders, and drive cross‑functional initiatives to improve productivity and software quality. This role requires leadership experience and willingness to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• 12+ years of software engineering experience and leadership experience.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and agentic engineering capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead vision, technical strategy, and execution of Allstate's Developer Experience program.
• Advocate for engineering community by gathering feedback and driving improvements.
• Engage in software engineering practices, prototypes, automation, and platform improvements.
• Evaluate and govern developer tools and platforms for security, reliability, and scalability.
• Champion AI-assisted software development including GitHub Copilot.
• Partner with engineering leaders, architects, and product stakeholders to create a seamless experience.
• Drive innovation through experiments and PoCs.
• Establish metrics and KPIs focused on productivity and adoption.
• Build and lead high-performing teams with a culture of excellence.
• Influence enterprise engineering standards and technology decisions.
• Lead globally distributed teams to deliver modern engineering capabilities.
