Job summary

eBay’s Design organization is seeking a Director of Design Systems to lead and evolve our design system at scale. You will build a high-performing team, hire and coach designers, and shape the structure and capabilities needed to grow with our evolving product ecosystem.

You will partner with Design, Product, and Engineering to translate strategy into actionable priorities, driving excellence in craft and collaboration.

Qualifications

• 15+ years leading and developing design teams.
• Proven track record of hiring and growing senior designers.
• Deep understanding of design systems and product design.
• Experience shaping team structure to meet evolving needs.
• Strong leadership: clarity, accountability, trust.
• Ability to partner across Design, Product, and Engineering.
• Strong judgment and communication in ambiguity.
