Job summary

Etsy, Inc. is seeking a Design Manager for the Studio team in New York to lead a small group of Visual and Systems Designers.

You will set the craft bar, grow the team, and drive cross‑functional programs across web, iOS and Android experiences. We are looking for a leader who can mentor designers, ship scalable systems, and partner with Brand, Design Systems, Engineering, and Product to elevate Etsy’s craft and impact across the platform.

Qualifications

• Portfolio demonstrating depth in visual systems and craft.
• Experience managing Product Designers and guiding career growth.
• Fluency with agentic prototyping tools such as Cursor or Claude.
• Experience shipping design across web, iOS, Android.
• Ability to operate in ambiguity and align collaborators.
• Strong communication and collaboration with product, eng, brand, and research.
• Leadership in design at scale and across Studio engagements.

Responsibilities

• Hire, manage, and develop a team of Product Designers working on cross-cutting systems and craft initiatives.
• Set a clear and consistent quality bar for interaction, visual design, and systems thinking across all Studio engagements.
• Oversee the delivery of high-impact Studio work from framing through production-ready output.
• Partner with cross-functional leadership — product, engineering, brand, and research — to position Studio as a strategic design partner.
• Drive team health, culture, and operational practices that enable consistent, high-quality output.
• Contribute to UX Foundations leadership discussions on team strategy, resourcing, and organizational direction.
