Job summary

SeaWorld is seeking a Director of Design & Engineering to lead planning, design, and execution of major capital improvements across SeaWorld parks. You will provide strategic direction to the project management team and partner with park and corporate leadership to support attraction development and long-range capital planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of project management experience across design, engineering, and construction.
• Minimum 5 years in theme parks, entertainment, hospitality, resorts, or guest-facing environments.
• Experience leading large-scale capital projects valued at $10M+.
• Experience mentoring or managing project managers or cross-functional teams.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, permitting, and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and mentor the Design & Engineering project management team.
• Provide strategic planning, prioritization, and resource allocation for departmental projects.
• Partner with park and corporate leadership to develop and execute major attractions and capital projects.
• Serve as Project Manager for major capital projects valued at $10 million or greater.
• Oversee budgets, schedules, procurement, vendor coordination, and execution.
• Collaborate with operations and leadership to ensure successful project delivery.
• Ensure compliance with capital project controls, codes, and safety regulations.
