The Director of Demand Planning consolidates enterprise-wide forecasting, demand planning, supply distribution strategy, and supply disruption mitigation for the MUSC Health network under a single accountable leader. Operating from the MUSC Health Consolidated Service Center (CSC) under limited supervision, this position owns the statistical demand signal that determines what MUSC purchases, where product is stocked, and how it is distributed to all hospitals, ambulatory facilities, and clinics. Using Tecsys Supply Chain Planning and related data-driven systems, the Director builds and governs the forecasting models, planning parameters, and inventory strategy that balance clinical service line requirements against national supplier inventory shortages, allocation events, and market volatility. The Director serves as the enterprise authority on coverage position during supply disruption, quantifying exposure, directing substitution and conservation strategy in partnership with Value Analysis and clinical leadership, and escalating with the evidence leadership requires to act in advance of clinical impact. Demand Planning is also a core enabler of product standardization across MUSC hospitals and clinics. The Director quantifies the demand, inventory, and financial impact of standardization and conversion initiatives, sequences their execution, and converts clinical variation into a governed, forecastable catalog. The Director leads the demand planning team and advances the mandate of the CSC to operate as a strategic value center for MUSC Health rather than a distribution cost center.
