The University of Kansas seeks a Director of National Defense Education Initiatives to lead externally facing education partnerships and programs with DoD, military services, and veterans. The role reports to AVP for National Defense Initiatives within the Office of Academic Affairs and oversees grants and projects across KU units.

The Director will shape education pathways, coordinate with campus partners, and represent KU in defense-education collaborations, with 1.0 FTE professional staff

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience, or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and seven (7) years of progressively responsible professional experience.
• Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience developing, delivering, or managing education, training, credential, academic-program, or workforce-development initiatives in collaboration with government, military, higher-education, industry, or other institutional partners.
• Two (2) years of experience managing complex projects or programs with responsibility for scope, schedules, budget monitoring, stakeholder communication, deliverables, data collection, and/or required reporting.

Responsabilités

• Develop external education strategy, partnerships, and program development for defense-related education initiatives.
• Drive partnerships with DoD and military partners, and coordinate learning-pathway concepts across KU.
• Manage portfolio of externally funded projects with scope, budgets, and reporting, and supervise staff in the Office.
