Job summary

Three Little Bears Day Care LLC in Bridgeport, CT is seeking a passionate Preschool Head Teacher to lead our early childhood classroom and guide a team of educators in a warm, caring environment.

You will plan age-appropriate curricula, mentor assistants, and maintain a safe, nurturing atmosphere that supports social-emotional development while communicating with families about progress and activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of preschool/early childhood classroom experience.
• Strong classroom management and child guidance skills.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement age-appropriate, developmentally-driven curriculum for preschool-aged children
• Lead and mentor assistant teachers and classroom aides to maintain a high-quality learning environment
• Foster a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom atmosphere that supports social-emotional development
• Conduct ongoing child observations and assessments to track developmental milestones
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding child progress and classroom activities
• Ensure classroom compliance with state licensing regulations and childcare safety standards
• Collaborate with center leadership to support program goals and continuous improvement

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related field preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a preschool or early childhood classroom setting
• Knowledge of CT Office of Early Childhood (OEC) licensing requirements is a plus
• Strong classroom management and child guidance skills
• Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children, families, and staff
• Patient, creative, and passionate about early childhood development
