Job summary

Leica Biosystems, a Danaher operating company, seeks a hands-on Director, DBS based on-site in Deer Park, IL. You will lead cross-functional Kaizen events, apply DBS principles, and coach teams to improve Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Customer Experience.

You will partner with leaders across Customer Care, Commercial Operations, Supply Chain and Operations to translate challenges into roadmaps, sustain improvements, and drive measurable, time-bound results. Travel 25% domestic/international.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 7+ years leading continuous improvement, Lean, operational excellence, or business transformation.
• Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, Toyota Production System, DBS in transactional or business process environments.
• Ability to partner with leaders and drive time-bound improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross‑functional Kaizen events and continuous improvement initiatives to drive measurable gains in Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Customer Experience.
• Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities, translate challenges into improvement roadmaps, and support achievement of strategic objectives.
• Coach, mentor, and develop associates and leaders in DBS fundamentals, including TPI, Standard Work, Daily Management, PSP, and Value Stream Mapping.
• Establish sustainable operating mechanisms through Daily Management, visual performance management, metrics, governance, and accountability processes.
• Serve as a trusted advisor who influences across functions, builds a culture of continuous improvement, and scales best practices across Leica Biosystems and Danaher.
