Director, Data Acquisition

Location: Remote, United States

Description

The Director of Data Acquisition is responsible for overseeing the efficient management of a remote and offshore team focused on researching and collecting commercial construction project data that adds value to our information network used by clients.

Timely, high-quality data delivery is the top priority. This is achieved by partnering with product, technology, and vendor teams to develop and execute a cohesive digitization strategy, along with establishing KPIs that demonstrate success and measurable client outcomes. The Director ensures Dodge delivers a seamless, efficient experience for customers in the commercial construction industry.

This is a full-time position reporting directly to the SVP of Data Strategy and Operations.

Preferred Location

This is a remote, home-office role; candidates in the continental United States will be considered.

Travel Requirements

Expected travel is up to 10% for this role.

Essential Functions

1. Build and lead a high-performance team through recruiting, training, and performance management.
2. Continuously assess team and individual performance, identify development opportunities, and recognize achievements.
3. Ensure team efforts align with business goals by understanding content availability's impact on sales, marketing, and customer satisfaction.
4. Oversee relationships with content vendors, including contract management, budgeting, and forecasting.
5. Ensure vendors meet quality and delivery standards and support scalability needs as the business grows.
6. Monitor and evaluate current content acquisition processes using data-driven insights.
7. Recommend and implement process and technology improvements to boost efficiency, accuracy, and delivery speed.
8. Collaborate with product teams to define tech requirements that enable automation and improved content delivery.
9. Provide regular reporting and analysis to support prioritization of quality enhancements.
10. Identify new content sources and collection methods to support revenue increase or cost decrease.
11. Develop processes and SOPs for utilizing ML, AI, and other technologies to increase throughput and decrease costs.
12. Partner with Sales and Product to align content strategy with customer needs and market opportunities.
13. Identify opportunities to expand and improve data content through modern technologies, manual curation, and data enrichment.
14. Support the creation of algorithms and tools to improve data capture and accuracy.

Education Requirement

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and/or equivalent work experience.

Required Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

• 8+ years managing data operations or analytics teams.
• Proficient with MS Office suite.
• Proven leadership experience, including working with global teams and managing vendors.
• Experience driving process improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Exceptional collaboration skills, especially with technical and cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of content vendor management, including contracts, forecasting, and budgeting.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with cloud technologies and distributed database systems.
• Experience with machine learning implementations.
• Experience with scraping technologies and structuring scraped data.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, remote environment.
