Job description

Job Title: Director, Data Acquisition

The Director, Data Acquisition, oversees a remote and offshore team dedicated to researching and collecting commercial construction project data, enhancing the information network used by clients.

Key priorities include ensuring timely, high-quality data delivery through collaboration with product, technology, and vendor teams to develop a digitization strategy, and establishing KPIs for success and measurable client outcomes. The role aims to provide a seamless, efficient customer experience in the commercial construction industry.

Position Details
  • Full-time role reporting to the SVP, Data Strategy and Operations
  • Preferred Location: Remote, home-office based in the continental U.S.
  • Travel: Up to 10%
Essential Functions
  1. Build and lead a high-performance team through recruiting, training, and performance management.
  2. Assess team and individual performance, identify development opportunities, and recognize achievements.
  3. Align team efforts with business goals, understanding the impact of content availability on sales, marketing, and customer satisfaction.
  4. Manage relationships with content vendors, including contracts, budgeting, and forecasting.
  5. Ensure vendors meet quality and delivery standards and support scalability.
  6. Use data-driven insights to evaluate current content acquisition processes.
  7. Recommend and implement process and technology improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
  8. Collaborate with product teams to define technical requirements for automation and improved content delivery.
  9. Provide regular reporting and analysis to support quality enhancements.
  10. Identify new content sources and collection methods to increase revenue or reduce costs.
  11. Develop processes and SOPs for utilizing ML, AI, and other technologies to increase throughput and reduce costs.
  12. Partner with Sales and Product to align content strategy with customer needs and market opportunities.
  13. Explore opportunities to expand and improve data content through modern technologies, manual curation, and data enrichment.
  14. Support the creation of algorithms and tools to improve data capture and accuracy.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years managing data operations or analytics teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with BI tools and SQL is a plus.
  • Proven leadership, including managing global teams and vendors.
  • Experience with process improvements, cloud technologies, machine learning, scraping technologies, and distributed databases.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively remotely in a fast-paced environment.
