Job summary

Tennant Company is seeking a Director of Cybersecurity to lead the enterprise cybersecurity program and advance Tennant's global security posture. This role reports to the CIO and translates cyber risk into business terms while guiding governance, incident response, and risk management across IT and business units.

The position requires 10+ years in cybersecurity leadership, with expertise in security architecture, vendor management, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Risk Management, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
• Advanced cybersecurity, risk, or governance certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, GIAC, or equivalent preferred.
• Deep knowledge of cybersecurity strategy, governance, risk management, security operations, incident response, privacy, regulatory compliance and enterprise technology risk across global environments.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks and regulatory expectations (NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, PCI DSS, GDPR, SOX).

Responsibilities

• Set enterprise cybersecurity vision, strategy, operating model and multi-year roadmap.
• Provide governance for cybersecurity risk, compliance, security operations and incident response capabilities.
• Establish governance forums, policies, metrics and reporting to strengthen accountability.
• Advise leadership on risks, threats, regulatory obligations and investment priorities.
• Lead planning across global units balancing risk reduction with business enablement.
• Oversee security operations and partner with vendors and IT teams to protect assets.
• Drive remediation of audit findings and security gaps.
• Develop and lead a high-performing cybersecurity team.
