True North Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Director of Manufacturing Operations in Addison, IL.

This onsite leadership role will oversee machining, assembly, planning, inventory, logistics, and facilities, driving KPI-based continuous improvement and cross-functional alignment with Engineering, Supply Chain, Project Management, Sales and Service. The role requires 10+ years of leadership in machine tool or capital equipment environments, deep expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, ERP/MRP, and strong

Qualifications

10+ years of progressive manufacturing and operations leadership.
Experience with production scheduling and labor planning.
Strong command of Lean, 5S, Six Sigma, ERP/MRP, inventory management, and manufacturing financials.
Experience leading in a small to mid-size shop (10–75 on the floor).
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Business, or related field.

Responsibilities

Own all manufacturing and operations functions: machining, assembly, planning, inventory, logistics, facilities; set strategy and KPIs; drive continuous improvement.
Own production scheduling, resource planning, inventory management, and material availability; address bottlenecks and forecast needs.
Lead facility transition and expansion to two shifts; manage staffing, supervision, and shift handoffs.
Ensure compliance with customer requirements, quality standards; lead Lean, 5S, Six Sigma, and root-cause problem solving; manage P&L and budgets.
