Job summary

Boden Us is seeking a senior Critical Environments Director to oversee laboratory facilities and MEP infrastructure for a diverse R&D portfolio. The role emphasizes uptime, safety, and regulatory compliance across cleanroom and bench-lab spaces.

The candidate will lead vendor activities, implement robust MOPs and SOPs, and drive risk-based change management while reporting to senior leadership. A strong background in critical facilities operations and budgeting is essential.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience in critical facilities operations and management, ideally within laboratory, cleanroom, pharmaceutical, or semiconductor environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong system-level expertise across critical MEP systems, including power distribution, UPS, generators, HVAC, and fire/life safety systems.
• Proven experience managing vendors, contracts, and on-site service delivery.
• Change management controls, MOPs, SOPs, and risk mitigation within mission-critical environments.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with a strong service-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight of all preventative and corrective maintenance activities carried out by specialist vendors on critical laboratory support systems.
• Develop, review, and approve all Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for work on critical systems to ensure risk is minimised.
• Own and manage the site’s change management control process for planned maintenance, ensuring effective scheduling and communication to reduce operational impact.
• Oversee contractor activities within the facility, ensuring full understanding of critical building functions and adherence to safety and operational standards.
