Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead high-level creator strategy and long-term vision including campaign planning and creator archetype/tier identification.
  • Contribute to new business responses and pitches, and oversee transition of wins to delivery teams.
  • Build and grow the creator strategy discipline within The Team, refining processes and talent development.

Job Summary:

THE·TEAM is a global marketing and talent management company where cultural expertise meets strategic excellence. Our Creator Marketing team pioneers innovative creator partnerships for some of the world's most recognizable brands. We're seeking a Director, Creator Strategist who understands how to unlock consumer insights, connect them with cultural and industry trends, and develop compelling strategies that drive impact in the creator economy.

If you're someone who instinctively understands why certain creators capture audiences' attention, can predict emerging cultural movements, and can transform these insights into meaningful brand opportunities—this role is for you.

This is a full-time role that is hybrid in office 3x/week from either the LA or Dumbo, Brooklyn office.

Job Overview:
  • Creative Brief Development – Work collaboratively with the insights and analytics team, account and creative teams to distill the key information from consumer, category, culture and company into actionable insights for substantial client projects.
  • Scoped Creator Strategy – Leads high-level, long-term creator strategy and vision, including campaign planning, creator archetype and tier identification.
  • Business Development – Core contributor to new business response development; including preparation and delivery of pitches – particularly around strategic upfront and creative set-up– and the transition of new business wins to teams.
  • Establish and Grow the Discipline at The Team – Develop the practice and approach to creator strategy at The Team. Identify and communicate ways to build and grow the team, the department and its processes and educate and develop talent.
  • Keep the company on the Creator industry forefront – Identify opportunities for learning and sharing with our team, clients and prospects about platforms, innovation, trends, audience, culture (i.e. thought leadership, trend reports, workshops, etc.).
What You'll Do:
  • A foundation in brand strategy, mixing creative thinking and data-driven decision-making.
  • A passion for internet culture and active engagement with digital communities.
  • Natural ability to spot emerging creators and trends before they break.
  • Can provide strategic POVs on platform updates and industry shifts.
  • Experience in content creation, community management, or creator partnerships is a bonus.
  • Understanding of both macro and micro creator dynamics & when to tap different tiers of creators.
  • 5-10 years of experience in creator strategy, creator partnerships, digital strategy, or social-led brand strategy.
  • Agency experience, experience working with national/global brands especially in tech or QSR.
  • Ability to work independently, proactively identify opportunities and drive innovation.
  • Ability to identify and define business problems, issues, and demonstrate an intuitive ability to discern the most important areas of opportunity.
  • Proactive and curious with an ability to identify and mine potential data sources across the organization and industry.
  • Have strong perspectives on a brand’s consumer, category, business strategies and culture.
  • Develop creative strategic solutions that address the client’s business challenges/ goals.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, skills that can ultimately weave findings into a cohesive and compelling story.
  • Impeccable communications, presentation and listening skills.
  • A proven collaborator who is solution-oriented, organized and detail–oriented.
  • Demonstrated ability to be an effective leader in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Self-motivated, with an aptitude to function in a high-demand, performance-driven environment.
  • Deep understanding of creator ecosystems across all major platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging spaces.
  • A strong POV on creator marketing best practices.
  • Proven track record of trend forecasting and cultural analysis that informs strategic recommendations.
  • Ability to transform platform and creator performance data into actionable insights.
  • Has strong perspectives about which brands are winning (and losing) in creator culture.
  • Naturally stays on top of platform updates and feature releases.
  • Has a sixth sense for emerging cultural movements and their impact on creator content.
  • AI fluency- Comfort using AI-powered tools to enhance strategic workstreams—such as research synthesis, insight development, brainstorming, and presentation development. Uses AI responsibly while applying human judgment to shape clear, client-ready strategy.

  • Base salary range: $125 - $150k , plus bonus potential if applicable for role.Actual base salary is dependent on several factors including but not limited to; market dynamics, location and region, experience, specialized skills/training (education), level of responsibility, budgetary considerations, tenure at the company (for current employees), etc. The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Compensation decisions are dependent on circumstances of each role.
