The Head of Tax Provision owns Intuit’s global income tax accounting function under ASC 740 — the quarterly and annual provision process, effective tax rate (ETR) forecasting, and the financial statement disclosures that follow. This role is the primary tax accounting liaison to the Controller’s organization, external auditors, and the Audit Committee, and is accountable for the accuracy, timeliness, and SOX-compliant control environment underpinning global tax reporting. The ideal candidate pairs deep ASC 740 technical command with the ability to operate at the pace and complexity of a large, multinational technology enterprise.
Technical mastery —command of ASC 740 sufficient to resolve novel, judgment-intensive issues independently
Executive presence —distills complex tax accounting matters into clear narratives for non-tax executives and the Audit Committee
Operational rigor —owns a control-intensive, deadline-driven close process at scale
Change leadership —drives process and technology transformation in a fast-evolving business
Cross-functional influence — partners effectively across Controllership, FP&A, Legal, and international tax planning
