In partnership with Advancement leadership, the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations is responsible for researching, identifying, and securing new funding opportunities from both corporations and foundations. The Director is responsible for stewarding and maintaining existing partnerships with organizations that the University has developed deep relationships with over the years. Working collaboratively with institutional leadership and faculty, the Director will identify and obtain grants to support institutional priorities and projects, faculty research, and special programs. CFR serves as a central clearinghouse for grant requests and as the point of contact for program staff from grant making organizations. The Director of CFR is responsible for grants management and reporting. The Director will also work in close contact with the Office of Government Relations.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Advancement, the Director of CFR will contribute to strategic planning, policy creation, goalsetting, and developing key metrics to measure success. The position requires strong alignment with ULV’s mission, values, and strategic vision, as well as demonstrated success working in a complex, fast-paced environment.

Serves to establish and cultivate long-term partnerships while strengthening and prioritizing existing relationships with the corporate and foundation sector that will result in funding for the immediate and long-term goals of the university. To do this the incumbent will work in collaboration with the Associate Vice President, Vice President, President and University leadership, to research and identify funders at the corporate and foundation level to support a variety of primary initiatives across the University.
Serve an the lead business development and relationship manager for a portfolio of top University strategic partner and prospects.
Manage a portfolio of assigned prospects while actively working to identify new corporations and foundations whose philanthropic funding priorities are aligned with institutional needs and initiatives.
Develops, prepares, and submits proposals and corresponding materials to perspective funders on a regular and consistent basis that results in a minimum of $1M in funding on an annual basis.
Maintain strategic oversight of and responsibility for all CFR program elements while supervising the efforts of the CFR Associate Director.
The incumbent will support and manage a stewardship program for corporate and private foundations. He/she will create, maintain, and adhere to a grant calendar that will include deadlines for proposals, reports, thank-you letters, and other correspondence.
Maintain current on best practices and trends in corporate partnerships, foundation giving, and community engagement. Serves as an educator and resource for faculty and staff around institutional philanthropy, and develops tools to communicate to internal stakeholders about funding opportunities.
