Job summary
Harris County is seeking a Director of Contract Compliance and Safety to lead the Worker & Community Protection and Contractor Safety programs. This role ensures wage-rate compliance (Texas Prevailing Wage, DBRA, HUD Section 3) and oversees contractor safety records on county projects.
You will supervise teams, develop training, and advise executives on regulatory risk. The position requires a Bachelor's degree and 7+ years in leadership, plus experience with government contracts and policy
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and seven or more years in management or leadership roles.
- Experience supervising staff and building projects from conception to completion.
- Experience liaising with board members, executives, and elected officials.
- Experience interpreting complex contracts and regulations and developing policies.
Responsibilities
- Lead contract compliance and safety programs across county contracts.
- Develop and implement monitoring plans, procedures, and internal controls.
- Oversee regulatory compliance with federal, state and local laws.
- Provide training, coaching, and performance development for staff.
- Prepare quarterly KPI reports and participate in leadership meetings.
