What’s the position?

What’s the position? The Director - Content Operations will play a critical role in optimizing the performance of our content production and distribution. This position is responsible for overseeing the entire content lifecycle, from ideation to publication, with a strong focus on integrating and optimizing AI tools to improve efficiency, scale, and quality. By defining and implementing content workflows, working with a team of content creators, and championing the adoption of AI technologies, this role will support the development of strategic approaches to maximize content impact, mitigate operational risks, and enhance audience engagement for Hard Rock Digital. These efforts will support the areas of SEO, content, education, community, web marketing, and earned media.

The ideal candidate will have a strong operational mindset, excellent team management skills, and a deep understanding of content strategy and AI integration, with the ability to drive process improvements while maintaining operational excellence. Additionally, they should be prepared to adapt and learn, as the competitive landscape of search and reaching audiences is constantly and rapidly evolving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic AI Integration: Identify, evaluate, and implement AI tools to enhance content creation, editing, distribution, and performance tracking.
  • Workflow Optimization: Design, document, and continuously refine scalable content operations workflows that incorporate AI-powered tools, ensuring seamless execution and maximum efficiency.
  • Team Leadership & Management: Help grow a team of content creators, editors, and strategists, fostering an environment of continuous learning, especially in AI tool proficiency.
  • Content Quality & Governance: Establish and enforce content guidelines, brand voice, and quality standards, ensuring all content (human-created and AI-assisted) aligns with our brand identity and strategic goals.
  • Performance Analysis: Utilize analytics and other tools to monitor content performance, identify trends, and derive actionable insights to optimize future content strategies and operations.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with marketing, product, sales, and technology teams to ensure content initiatives support broader company objectives.

What are we looking for?

  • 5+ years of experience in content operations, content marketing, or editorial management, with a proven track record of managing content pipelines.
  • Demonstrable experience with and a strong understanding of various AI tools for content creation.
  • Proven ability to design, implement, and optimize content workflows.
  • Continued interest in learning more about AI to leverage it in new ways with a hacking/growth mindset.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience motivating and developing a content team.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and quality.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills, with the ability to present insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented and proactive, with a strong sense of accountability.
