Job summary

The Community Preservation Corporation is seeking a Director of Construction Risk Management to oversee CPC’s construction lending risk for affordable housing projects, primarily in upstate NY. You will partner with lending teams to ensure compliance with CPC guidelines and to mitigate risk on both individual projects and portfolios.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in building materials, design, construction processes and documentation
• Professional background or accredited degree in engineering, architecture or construction management preferred
• Minimum 5 years in a construction lending environment with risk management responsibility
• Strong Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
• Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize a varied workload
• Self-starter, team player, able to work independently

Responsibilities

• Oversee third-party inspecting engineers and architects: select consultants, set requirements, ensure quality and CPC compliance
• Review construction information at loan commitment, during construction and at loan conversion per CPC policy
• Communicate with borrowers, contractors and architects to identify risks and mitigations for budget and schedule
• Prepare Pre-Construction and Post-Construction Analysis Reports with narrative summaries and issue tracking
• Review monthly construction status reports and construction documentation
• Review Property Condition Assessment reports for condition and ongoing costs
• Provide training seminars on construction risk guidelines to internal and external clients
• Perform administrative duties related to construction portfolio management
